Local Couple Start Family Farm

Can you believe we started in 2019?

Visiting our farm for the first time, a longtime friend of mine says “It’s almost like you’ve been working towards this for a decade”.

It all began with a planter of herbs and a lonely soybean plant about 15 years ago. You really don’t know how much you don’t know until you begin. Not too much time later, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a horticulture degree. After graduating, I hitch-hiked around the country visiting local farms to learn by doing. I loved the work and the lifestyle. Taking a break from farming, I went through the carpentry program from Laney College in Oakland, California. Worked as a carpenter for a few years, and then went back to touring farms - this time with an eye for purchasing land nearby. Nothing seemed to click, and I soon became disheartened. A few hasty decisions later I somehow ended up in Portland, OR, and my land search continued. Soon enough, my dream farm popped up here in Warren, and I snatched it immediately. The rest is history.
